About
The VanDyck Foundation
The VanDyck Foundation, with charitable status number 77364 5148 RR0001, is a private operating foundation governed by a restricted charitable purpose trust, rather than a Board of Directors.
The VanDyck Foundation is dedicated to advocating for social justice, human rights, and equality for vulnerable women in the County of Simcoe, Ontario. We are committed to creating a more just and equitable society for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances, with a focus and priority placed on helping low-income women.
Leah Dyck
I, Leah Dyck, am a Social Justice Advocate, and sole Trustee of The VanDyck Foundation. I'm also a Rent-Geared-to-Income (“RGI”) tenant of the Barrie Municipal Non-Profit Housing Corporation (“BMNPHC”), also known as “Barrie Housing”, and have been since 2009.
Between 2021 and 2024, I ran a food security program called 'Fresh Food Weekly'. I personally raised nearly $200K between June 2022 and March 2024. And between 2021 and 2024, our volunteers delivered half-a-million dollars-worth of fresh food to thousands of low-income residents in Barrie and Innisfil, Ontario.
Now I'm determined to get Fresh Food Weekly up and running again because not only is it still needed, it's needed more than ever.
